Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

Years ago, I shot some chiaroscuro images of a glass bowl in the doorway of an old barn. I've wanted to do a painting from them for a long time, but couldn't get a handle on how to treat the image. Finally, it hit me: Integrate some abstract geometric, slightly cubistic figuration with more the organic configuration of the originals to create a non-objective, abstracted image that still implies a kind of narrative.

For as long as humans have had language, they have enjoyed stories. Scratchings on cave walls and peckings on rock faces are almost certainly story-related. Art, in whatever form, comprises a framework upon which hangs a story of some sort. Sometimes the framework IS the story, as is often the case with depictions of landscape or figure studies. Depictions of people doing things--even...
